Brad was born and raised right here in Durango, attending school locally, spending a year at Fort Lewis College and working for a small, family-run business. Both he and his wife of 35 years, Janelle, grew up in La Plata County and feel a distinct privilege to be able to serve the families in the county. Today, Brad, Janelle and one of their three sons continue to run their own small business, Blake Mechanical Inc. while the other two pursue careers in Mechanical Engineering. As a result of his background in Durango, he has a unique vision for the county that stems from his 20+ years of business knowledge and family experiences.
In addition to running a successful, family-owned business, Brad serves on the Board of Directors for various community organizations such as the La Plata Economic Development Alliance, Region 9, Colorado Workforce Center, and the SW Transportation Planning Region (TPR). He is also an active member of the Durango Chamber of Commerce and Home Builders Association of SW Colorado. He previously was a partner in a solar construction company, Konisto Companies Inc., and also served on both the Board for the Florida Consolidated Ditch Company and the Durango Food Bank.
When he’s not serving as your balancing voice on the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners, Brad enjoys being outdoors and experiencing all of the activities that the Durango area has to offer such as boating, four-wheeling, hunting, hiking, skiing and fishing. Brad is proud to be running again as a pro-family candidate and his top priorities are God, family and country.
